I had a lot of issues on this.  For the longest time, Arduino was not showing the correct port in the tool settings. I switched out the board, cable, and switched computers and it would not work. After bothering everyone about it for a good 30 minutes, I realized my ground cable was not plugged into the negative rail. It was in the positive rail. A tiny little slip caused me at least an hour of struggle. But after that, it still wouldn't work properly, so Kayla helped me figure out I was using the wrong shift register. After I tackled those road blocks the rest of the chapter was pretty easy to understand. :)
