Circuit Bending- Possible Project Idea

I just googled "circuits and stuffed animals" and found this interesting tutorial on how to "circuit bend" a toy.

It is very through and the result is horror-movie creepy. My mind runs wild with how you could alter the outside too- you could turn something like this into a totally sweet Halloween prop- or yes, Fine Art. Fine Art can be totally sweet, right?

I was wondering if doing a "circuit bend" on an old toy would be acceptable for our first project. It doesn't use the Adurino board, but it certainty does use circuits, involves soldering, and is manageable for the first project. I hope I can explore this idea more, and maybe head to Goodwill soon and search for some victims...
