Defense Mechanisms
There are a number of bioluminescent animals that exist in nature. These creatures use their "lights" to attract prey. One such example of this would be the angler fish or the Vampyroteuthis.

Concept
This project would be about the reactionary mechanisms animals have to their surroundings and other animals. It is a combination of the idea of natural defense mechanisms and predatory behavior.
Physical Project
Ideally, we will create a piece that makes reference to an animal or plant that doesn't exist in nature. It will be illuminated, but if someone touches the sensors on the piece, it will turn off. It would be nice to incorporate some kind of use of proximity in this project as well. So, the closer someone gets, the dimmer the lights become. Once the person is further away, the piece will light up again.
