I really liked how Tom Igoe does not consider himself as an engineer nor artist. As the interview says, he probably did not have any experience at all with programming or technology (besides the light bulbs) by the time he graduated. I really find interesting how somebody would end up teaching a class that requires computer and programming after getting a degree in Theater, because people I know who are not in Computer Science/Engineering actually hate programming, and some of them even hardware (circuits, logic gates, electronic circuits, etc.)
I am glad that at least Tom teaches programming and computer-related stuff in a fun way, with hands-on material, instead of teaching it as a programming class for computer science and engineering that explains programming jargon, time complexities, logic, data structures/algorithms, etc.
