There will come soft rains
It starts out cheery in the morning along with breakfast. I realized its about a smart house doing its daily chores. After a while, the mood changes as the absence of the family starts to become noticeable. The part about the shapes of the family left on the outside wall of the house is definitely talking about a nuclear bomb/war that went off nearby and that nobody survived from. Except the dog, but it eventually died too. The smart house feels like it's alive when a fire breaks out, with all the mice and components trying to save itself, especially when it "dies" in the end.
