There will come soft rains was one of the most powerful reads that I have read in a long time. It was really interesting. I really enjoyed reading it. The unknowing of what happened to all the humans in this distant year in the future or as the story tells the present. But the advancement in technology is so amazing that even though everything that was alive outside is gone burnt to a crisp, all of humanity is diminished but this "smart house" if you will is still alive acting as if the humans that owned the house were still there. Making breakfast, cleaning dust, giving announcements, and even at the end of the poor house the warnings and crying out. I thought it was interesting in thinking about just how advanced will technologies advance that it doesn't even need us to be around to perform its duties or even thrive and live without us here.
