  1. I have to say that I thought this project was the best project ever in the history of mindlfex/balloon projects. Renate, Ryan, and Emily are the most awesome people alive.

  2. Dear Renate, your pride has taken me completely off guard, I don't know if I can recover and compose myself to leave said comment. But because I care, I will try.

I think the best part of this project was the random people in the plaza nonchalantly walking up and expressing curiosity. It made me wonder what it would have been like on a non-cloudy, non-windy day, only because I think the crowds would have been spectacularly larger...but I think it was incredibly useful to see the small numbers of people who came up and being able to talk with them as they went through the process. 'Twould be interesting to hear what you guys thought about the questions and the affect on people.

Also...the picture on the front page of the Alligator on Thursday did not do you any justice. "Class" (although potentially fear instilling) seemed like one of the less profound compared to "dying alone" and "never finding love." (Don't worry Sam, you are still quite young, and not entirely unlikeable).

  3. To address Natalie's question, I really appreciated the questions as an opportunity to tell them more about our art project. It seemed that the people that did stop to talk all seemed to have some relation to digital media art: Cary, the student displayed on the front page of the Alligator, had played with the Mindflex before. Another student with just a passing question asked us if this had anything to do with MEAT, because one of his friends had been in that class on the Engineering side. I really appreciated that random strangers took an interest in the combination of Art and Technology, and wanted to just see what was going on. I also want to continue to work on the interdisciplinary functions in an attempt to educate others that art students do not "do art" because they can't do anything else, but rather because they can do anything else and choose art in order to combine interests in a visually expressive way.
