Group Observations

Man/Machine

At the corner of 13th St and 4th Ave, the LED sign that usually displays NO RIGHT TURN ON RED read RIGHT TURN ON RED. I was so apt to trust technology, but now I'm unsure of what to do. Do I right turn always on red, can I go if there's no oncoming traffic, or do I assume the LEDS burnt out? Usually it turns out entirely. People blindly trust technology, we don't second guess it versus trusting a person that gives statistical information.

Man/Man

We tend to not trust people's information because human error is more common than machine error. At work we were adding up our hours but we were forced to double check before we were given our paychecks because we weren't trusted to get it right the first time.

Man/Environment

Man is constantly trashing its environment. The Kwik E-mart on 4th Ave was shut down after illegally accepting food stamps in exchange for alcohol taking advantage of the government funding. It's been shut down for less than a week and already people are trashing the place. The weeds are overgrown, and empty bottles and cans litter the sidewalk.
