Her work is mostly reflected around video and personal interaction. Although the one thing that I find meaningful in her work is the charming atmosphere that she creates through installation.  In her interview with http://generactive.net/interview-hyun-jean-lee/ the one thing that I found interesting was her transition into video art came after her 15 year painting career. I found that the journey of this artist was very interesting as she switch between what would be considered more of a classical medium to a newer medium. I also find these things very relevant to my life as I am embarking on my  journey as a Artist.

“Pulse Park” is comprised of a matrix of light beams that graze the central oval field of Madison Square Park. Their intensity is entirely modulated by a sensor that measures the heart rate of participants and the resulting effect is the visualization of vital signs, arguably our most symbolic biometric, in an urban scale.

This artist repeats a similar theme throughout most of his installations and work. The idea of pulse is one that is connected to the heart which is our life source, it is unique to all of us and represents life with visual, and censor stimulus.  I think that this piece that I am talking about is important because there is a level of humanity invoked by it. When the piece invites people to add there efforts it holds a sense of sustainability to our culture.

This artist piece is very interesting to me, he invites people to choose weather or not if they want to shoot him with a paintball machine incased in what looks like a terrorists room as he resembles what a terrorist stereotypically looks like to the average american. The fact that people control literally the health of the Artist is a very strong concept. I was considering something similar to a performance piece so this is directly interests my work as far as exploiting societies idea of capital punishment and the death penalty.  The Artist response to a comment made about how terrorist should be removed in what ever means necessary.
