Electric Homework

1. Contrast the speed of an electron with the speed of electrical motion in one sentence.
The speed of an electron is faster than the speed of electrical motion, electrical motion depends on the current of electrons.

2. Briefly explain the relationship between resistance and energy. Use an example from your house.
Resistance can alter Energy by slowing it down so it can be used more efficiently and not damage an appliance. An example can be my Xbox it has a power adapter box that collects the energy and resistors control the current to turn it on.

3. What is the difference in AC and DC current? Give and example of each from your daily life.
A DC current only flows in one direction, while a AC current changes directions back and forth.

4. Determine the equivalent resistance of a 6.0 Ω and a 8.0 Ω resistor if …
a. … connected in series.
    14.0 ohms

b. … connected in parallel.
      3.3 ohms

  1. Yeah! Nice work Rodrigo.

PSU (power supply units) use resistors and other components to control current flow in a number of ways to make it suitable to operate a variety of components within the device. I think it's really fascinating the ways we can control flow and the requirements different components have to run efficiently.

I quickly found this little article on what is needed to make up a PSU for many devices like an X BOX (essentially a computer). If it interests you, take a look:
