Project Concept

Communication is a vital part of our daily function, and a huge component of how we communicate is nonverbal communication, the context that supports verbal communication.  facial expression, eye movement, posture, hand movements. Often times we are unaware of such movements, they are innate. So we are focusing on illustrating those movements, making the user, the communicator aware; using this natural motion to make art images, to define space, personal space (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ax4pgtHQDg) . In order to monitor this, to define this space we need a light weight sensor, something that wont hinder the natural movements. We are achieving this by using the wires necessary to complete the circuit to create the physical structure of our accessory. The wire feels appropriate as a material because of its common use in jewelry  its structural integrity, and its relevancy with the actual technology.  Improvements to this concept as well as the aesthetics would be wireless communication, that way the user would not be restricted to the movement that the length of the cord allows.
