9/9 Artists

Andreas Muxel creates beautiful reactive light sculpture that respond to the sounds in their environment using sensors measuring vibrations of architectural solids in a range of low frequencies. The sensor data controls the light wires, which are tensed to a spatial net structure.

Arthur Ganson makes some of my favorite sculptures. He makes these whimsical machines that focus on movement. They often poses human-like characteristics, the sensual machine that bathes itself in oil or the other kinetic sculpture that dances with a chair.

And you should REALLY check out his Ted Talk

Roxy Paine has a series of works that are machines making art. His idea is to take the artist's hand out of the work. the question becomes what is the art piece? the Machine, the process, or the final product made by the machine?
