John Grade

Grade’s Capacitor piece is a digital electronic inspiration. There are sensors on the roof of the building. The sensors pick up temperature and wind data and compare with historical data. “The discrepancy between real-time readings and historical norms determines how quickly the sculpture opens and closes as well as how rapidly the interior pulses with light”. The sculpture is made with hinged wood frames with skins of polyethylene fabric and LEDs linked with the controllers. This is an overall amazing installation!!

Rain Room

I personally was fortunate enough few years ago to go to MoMA in NYC to visit the rain room exhibit. Where you would walk into the rain without being rained on.
