aritst research 9/9
Hye Yon Nam invites people to kiss and make electronic music via sensors in the participants’ mouths.
I really love this project. It's personal and intimate like I have been describing. But it also takes away the intimacy by having the interaction between strangers. I really like the idea of making this project an instrumental performance. The performance could be done either as a solo or as a duet.
There is another project with this same concept taken but applied to gaming:
music.http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2013/09/game-feature-for-917-pastecom.html
I like how this project can make "love" into music. Love is very complicated and I believe that most can agree that kissing is a good representation of love. Whether it is a intimate relationship or platonic. I think music would be the best way to project this abstract connection between two people.

Meridith Pingree hanging mobile reacts to the energy and movement in a room through the use of sensors.
I like how Pingree's art attracts human behavior. Her mobile installation literally feeds from the energy from surround people without them knowing and translates it into its own energy. It is almost a twist on who powers who. Do we rely on technology or does it rely on us?
