Process.1

Okay so I’ve finalized what I want to do with this project. I want to make a brain out of clay or sculpey and have a sound sensor connected to LEDs so that when you say something, the lights will light up. Now, I’ve done a lot of research on brainwaves and MRI scans and basically looking at the brain and looking at the parts of the brain that interpret sound. I’d like for viewers to yell into the sound sensor and then see the parts of the brain that light up because of this.

As far as how I will display the brain, I don’t think I’m going to do a medical stance. I kind of want the brain to be in a box with a slightly reflective piece of glass dividing it and the viewer so that when you look into the box and see the brain, you also see yourself reflected back. I’ve gotten a tip to go to Shay’s which sells sheets of glass and to browse around there.

I feel good about finding a code for the project. I want to work with sound threshold, specifically, but I don’t think it will be a problem formatting someone else’s code to fit what I want.

With the brain, too, I’m pretty sure I can fit the arduino and battery and anything else inside the brain. I think it will be dark enough in the box so that I don’t need to worry about people seeing these things. And it might even be interesting if they do.
