Soft Rains response prompt

The article itself was very interesting in the way he wrote and described the way his house functioned without any human intervention. Everything in the house was timed to the t when each little tick explained an action of "cleaning" or making breakfast on its own. Though thinking about what technological aspects I would have in my apartment without any human intervention would be mainly the A.C. since it is put on auto 78 degrees. In addition to the electronic clock which would give out once the electricity is cut off. The electronics in my place require the touch of a human being to allow it to do what it does best since it is not programmed to do anything at any particular time. For example, the stove has knobs that needs to be turned on/off in order to proceed with any kind of cooking. Though the house set up in soft rains is possible in our day in age we just need to program things so that it can be done at a certain time. It sounds like a cool idea but I don't know how I feel about the house being in control of things, what if there is a malfunction? what if it attacks?
