What is the directional relationship between charge and current?

Current flows around a circuit from the positive side of the cell to the negative side. But the electrons are flowing around the circuit in the opposite direction from the negative side to the positive. Current is the rate of the flow of Charge. Current is measured in Amperes (A) so for example a current of 1 A means that (Charge is measured in coulombs (C)) 1 C of charge flows past a point in a circuit every second.
